Phormant. Phormant is the photography practice of Jacob Christopher. Since 2001 Jacob has been experiment- ing with photography, beginning with the photography and design of many of his own bands CDs and promo- tional material, and later, on to more “fashion” oriented photographs. His love for graphic design and archi- tecture began to inform the compositions, while his involvement in the rock/hardcore music scene has influenced the content and style of his photographs. As a photographer, Jacob is always looking for new challenges and opportunities to branch out into new areas. Never wanting to be pinned down, he has done shoots for the fashion and music industries as well as taken on photographing weddings. |

Ghosts & Phantoms Ghosts and Phantoms is the brainchild of Jacob Romero, vocalist for the now defunct New Mexico based hardcore band Amicus. In 2007 he found himself yearning to create music with more space and ambience. To that end, Jacob called on the help of friend and long time collaborator Christopher Lehr. Christopher’s contribution to the project lies in his ability to create heady beats and melancholy instrumentations laced with textural soundscapes. While in New York, Christopher split his time between his studies and finding a sound that would eventually comprise the earliest recordings of Ghosts and Phantoms. After about a year of working on the tracks and sending the digital files back and forth between New York and New Mexico, the two finished recording the vocals when Jacob made a trip to New York in April 2009. After the completion of “Paranoia Stories,” Christopher decided that for the follow-up he would attempt to create a more musical and dynamic album and enlisted the help John Powell, bassist for Amicus. This marked the first time, since their work five years ago in the experimental band End it for Everyone, that the three have worked together. |
